ARC Long White Lunch 2025
ARC Long White Lunch 2025
The annual ARC Long White Lunch was held at the shed on Sunday 17th August. We had a great turnout ranging from members who have joined ARC in recent times to rowers who have been at the club for “eons”. The sun was shining (for a change) and everyone enjoyed the fabulous food that was brought along. Anne, Judith and Rosemary yet again did a great job organising the event and their efforts were much appreciated.
Needless to say, the main topic of conversation was rowing including lots of humorous tales of adventures and misadventures over the years. It was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up and also make new friends.
Awards were presented for: most improved novice rowers (Seven and Francesco); most improved rowers (Mel and Nick); best cox (Judith); most successful competitor (Rosemary); and the coaches’ award (Terry). We are especially grateful to both Terry and Mike who make it possible for us to compete at regattas by transporting boats.
Thanks to Lillian for photos and to Sue for the picture of our “ARC hipsters”, 5 members who have had 7 hip replacements (an average of 1.4 per person). See if you can spot them. (Hint: you may need to enlarge the photo.) Additional photos from Denny have also been added.
